With care and servicing, your Dreyfuss & Co watch will last a lifetime and beyond. Help preserve its longevity by following our care suggestions below and make your Dreyfuss watch an heirloom to cherish.
Bracelet/Strap Care
Bracelet Watches
Direct contact with sprays such as hairsprays, perfumes or detergents may cause damage to your watch. To ensure the bracelet lasts as long as possible, remove your watch before cleaning and using such products.
To clean your metal bracelet, we recommend using a soft jewellery cloth to gently work out any build up of dirt between the links and to polish the metal.
Leather Straps
Leather straps deterioriate at different rates depending on climatic conditions, sweat acidity and levels of wear and tear.
To ensure your leather strap lasts as long as possible take the following precautions: 1) avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight, and 2) avoid direct contact with solvents, detergents and perfumes.
The leather strap can be cleaned with damp cloth and replacement straps can be fitted by a Dreyfuss & Co stockist.
Stainless Steel and Plated Case
All metal casing should be cared for with a polishing cloth and stored in the presentation box when not being worn. It's important to keep all metal parts clean as this will prevent the watch from becoming discoloured.
Seafarer Waterproof Care
Always make sure the crown on your watch is screwed home before exposing to water. A hard knock might cause a watch to lose its waterproof benefit without you realising it. Waterproof watches must be opened and closed by a skilled watchmaker. When due a battery change, we recommend you return your Waterproof watch to Dreyfuss & Co for resealing.
Glass Care
All Dreyfuss & Co watches are fitted and sealed with a high quality sapphire glass. Although extremely strong and almost scratch resistant, the glass can become chipped or cracked if it comes in to contact with a hard surface.
General Care
Naturally, we hope you enjoy wearing your Dreyfuss & Co watch as much of the time as possible! When not wearing the watch, we recommend always storing it in it's presentation box where it is away from dust and the risk of damage.
Servicing
We recommend servicing your Dreyfuss & Co watch every 3 years. This ensures that the mechanism is correctly lubricated and aligned for perfect timing results. See details in Servicing, or contact us for more information.
Quartz Watches
All quartz watches are powered by batteries. If your quartz watch stops, have the battery checked by an approved Dreyfuss & Co repair centre as soon as possible as a 'dead' battery may cause serious damage to the movement if left inside the watch too long.
